Pickin’ in the Park was founded by Pickin’ Productions in 2008. We present four free community concerts every August at Paonia Town Park in Paonia, CO. Each event draws around 1500 people who come from all around to enjoy three bands nightly, free kids activities, regional food vendors, local beer, cider and wine, and four lovely summer evenings with friends and family. Starting each night at 6pm, we present “6@6” which features some of the best local musicians and always includes a high school student or two. The 2nd act is usually a nationally touring band with a 60 minute set, followed by the headliner playing a full 90-minute set. Past performers include Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, MarchForth, Eilen Jewell, Rosie Ledet, I Draw Slow, Drew Emmitt and many more. Genres vary week to week, keeping it fresh and exciting.
